From Paint Mecca to Build-X
We started as Paint Mecca — a family-run paint and hardware retail shop in Fochville, serving the local community with the tools and materials they needed to get the job done.
In 2017, we rebranded and scaled up, becoming Build-X. The vision was bigger: take the trust and hands-on expertise we had built locally, and bring it to tradespeople and DIY buyers across South Africa.
The online store is the next step in that journey — making it possible to order quality tools from anywhere in the country and have them delivered to your door.

What we offer
We launch with a carefully selected range of power tools, hand tools, accessories, and safety gear — sourced from authorised suppliers so you know what you're getting is genuine. Every product goes through our own vetting before it hits the store. More brands and categories are coming as we grow.

Our goal is simple: make it easier to buy quality hardware tools anywhere in South Africa. Nationwide delivery via The Courier Guy and RAM Couriers means we're not just for Fochville anymore. We're for every contractor, plumber, builder, and weekend DIYer in all nine provinces.
