1. About Build-X
Build-X is an online hardware store based in Fochville, South Africa. We sell power tools, hand tools, accessories, and safety gear to contractors, handymen, and serious DIY buyers, with nationwide delivery across all nine provinces.
2. Products & pricing
All prices are displayed in South African Rand (ZAR) and include 15% VAT. Prices are subject to change without notice. Product images are representative of actual products. All products are sourced from authorised suppliers and are genuine.
3. Orders & payment
We accept payment via Yoco (card) and EFT/bank transfer. For EFT orders, our banking details will be emailed after checkout. Orders are confirmed and dispatched once payment reflects in our account. Business customers requiring a VAT invoice should tick the relevant option at checkout and provide their company name and VAT number.
4. Stock availability
While we do our best to keep stock levels accurate, items can occasionally become unavailable after an order is placed. If an ordered item is out of stock, we will contact you directly to arrange supply of the item or a suitable alternative. If we are unable to supply the item, you will receive a full refund. You are also welcome to phone or WhatsApp us to check availability before ordering.
5. Delivery
We deliver nationwide via The Courier Guy and RAM Couriers. Delivery cost and estimated time depend on the product size and your destination, and is calculated at checkout. We are not liable for delays caused by courier services or for deliveries to incorrect addresses provided by the customer. Tracking information will be provided once your order is dispatched.
6. Returns & refunds
You may return an item within 30 days of delivery, provided it is unused and in its original packaging. Please contact us before returning any item. Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days of receiving the returned item. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, unless the item received was damaged or incorrect.
7. Warranty
All products carry the manufacturer's warranty as specified per product. Warranty claims should be directed to Build-X in the first instance and we will assist in coordinating with the manufacturer or authorised repair centre. Warranty does not cover damage resulting from misuse, normal wear and tear, or unauthorised repair or modification.
8. Privacy & data (POPIA)
We collect personal information (name, email, phone, address) and, where applicable, optional business/company and VAT details, solely for the purposes of fulfilling your order and issuing invoices. Your information is not sold or shared with third parties beyond our courier partners and payment processing provider (Yoco), who require it to deliver your order and process payment. We comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
9. Limitation of liability
Build-X's liability in connection with any product or order is limited to the value of that product or order. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of our products or services.
